Here we have a nice and tidy fairly new 3 1/2" gauge GWR Hawksworth County 4-6-0, Number 1004 'County of Somerset'. This is another model that has come to us before it's done a lot of running by the looks of it. She's been run a few times, but judging by the general tidiness and the lack of serious soot build up in the fire and smoke boxes we don't think she's seen a great deal of work. The detail and paint is pretty good as well, making it (except for the stay nuts down the firebox) a very convincing model.
Mechanically this is a nice and crisply engineered model, with very little wear n tear on the bottom end. The boiler is silver soldered copper, and a neat and tidy job that we can of course put through a fresh 4 year hydraulic test and a fresh annual steam test so she's ready to go.
There is an injector, an axle pump and a hand pump in the tender, lubrication is mechanical and hidden under the footplate as per usual practice.
